My Thoughts on the Econonmy

Maybe I've lived in such poverty that I've not noticed it, but I believe it is all a HOAX. A made up distress of America so that Super-bama can save the nation. If everyone would just shut off the TV, I believe life would just go on.

Well, for me it would.

Just my thoughts.

What do you think?

The Bride of Christ part 2

Today we're gonna move forward a little bit in Song of Solomon. But first I want to throw in a little plug. Last night at church, my step-father, who is the Associate Pastor of our church, preached an awesome message on The Bride of Christ. At the bottom of this page under Strong Tower Ministries Podcast, you can listen to it. It is titled "Unsolved Mysteries".

We left off at Chapter 1 vs 2. So today we'll pick up with vs 3.

Song of Songs 1:3 "Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you."

I really want us to understand that this is Jesus Christ and us, the Bride. This verse just reiterates that fact. The name CHRIST means "anointed one". The Bride says here that "your name is ointment poured forth". When they anointed Kings in the OT, they poured ointment over their heads. She was recognizing Him as the King and as the ANOINTED ONE.

This book is Jesus Christ and the Bride.

The virgins in this verse are those who have never experienced intimacy with Christ; the lost. Even they love Him, just because of His name, because He is the anointed one.
Philippians 2:11 "Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Him as Lord" (paraphrased).

Song of Songs 1:4 "Draw me away! We will run after you."

The Bride's cry for intimacy. Also, there is something about Christ that is amazing. The more He draws us to Him, the more we want to run after Him (most of the time). Remember that last time He pricked your heart, and you were like, Oh, Lord, I must know you more, and you ran after Him. Or the last time your significant other did something romantic out of their heart for you. Didn't that make you want to run after them. When Christ draws us, then we seek Him. Actually, we can't seek Him, until He draws us.

"Although we have the desire and the willingness to pursue after Him, we cannot help but feel a lack of strength for the pursuit. This strength for the pursuit is not a mighty power from the Spirit that is given to us once for all. Rather, the Lord's own beauty and glory draws us. His drawing power is our pursuing power. If the Lord has truly drawn us, it is very easy for us to pursue after Him." -Watchman Nee (The Song of Songs: A Divine Romance between God and Man)

Song of Songs 1:4 (second part) "The King has brought me into His chambers."

Just like verse 3, she recognizes Him as the King. Also, we didn't just go into His chambers, He must bring us there. Also, He won't bring us there until we are ready. The inner chambers is a true place of intimacy. A place of nakedness and complete openness. Until we are ready for the Lord to see us completely naked, and unashamed, I don't believe He will bring us into that place. We can't cover ourselves like Adam and Eve did after their sin. We must be willing to stand naked regardless of our sin. Than Christ can begin that work to, not COVER our sin, but REMOVE our sin.

Until we are ready to stand naked and unashamed before Him, I don't believe we will experience intimacy. There are no secrets in intimacy.

Song of Songs 1:4 (third part) "We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you."

This is a third "character" in this book. It is the daughters of Jerusalem. They obviously aren't the Bride, so I believe they are those who have been around church, or around Christians. They converse a lot with the Bride, so they could represent the many people who know us, but aren't Christians. In a way, they have experienced Christ, through us. They can see that His love for us, the Bride, is better than wine, and won't forget that.

I believe this is true. People at work come up to me and say, You're a Christian aren't you? They notice something different about me. People you are around should notice something different about you. And most of the time, even if they don't admit it, they like it. Otherwise, you wouldn't be the first one they come talk to when they are having problems at home, or when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer. People look up to you, not because of you, but because of Christ in you.

Well, we got through verse four today. I really want us to remember that this is Christ speaking to us. Also, we must be willing to stand unashamed and naked before we can enter into an intimate relationship with Christ. Than He can begin a work in us. Another thing, remember that those around you are watching. They experience Christ's love through you.

God Bless.

Picture into 3D Video

So, I just finished a tutorial off of videocopilot.net and it taught me how to make a still photo into a 3D Video. The picture I used (Trey and myself - many moons ago) wasn't the greatest because it has a low resolution, but I liked it. I'll definitely use this know-how in the future. God Bless.

The Bride of Christ

I am a graduate from Conversion School of Ministry in Florence, Alabama. While I was there, I went through a class that walked us through the book, Song of Solomon. It is truly fascinating to look at the similarities between a man and wife and Christ and the Church. A lot of people get the simple things, but even down to the smallest or even most intimate attributes of marriage can be related back to our relationship with Christ.

My wife and I have been married for a little over a year now, and I've learned a lot. I've learned how little like Christ I actually am. He told us to love our wives like He loves the Church...WOW. Let's just say I'm glad I'm not Jesus, cause that's hard. But I'm trying to everyday, because I do truly love my wife (she's the best). So, I'll be sharing my thoughts here and there about that relationship with Christ. (WARNING: Subject Matter may be sensitive to little one's ears!(or, eyes, I guess))

Song of Songs 1:1 "The song of songs, which is Solomon's."

First off, the writer, Solomon, wanted this book to be personal. He wanted others to relate to it, otherwise, he wouldn't have claimed it personally his. So, for the rest of the book, we can personally relate to it and the truths that lie within.

Secondly, the name Solomon, actually means, "Prince of Peace".

WOW!

This love song is written by the Prince of Peace to his bride. This my friends, is no accident. The Holy Spirit knows whats up. Every detail in the Old Testament that testifies of Jesus Christ is God-directed. Just in this one verse, God has put so much power in it.

This first verse is telling the us, the reader, the bride of Chirst, that this whole book is written by the Prince of Peace Himself and it is written directly to His bride, us. This is one of those High School sappy love letters, only it is from the biggest lover ever. So, I hope we understand that this book is more than some romantic letter from Solomon to a woman. It is a direct love letter from Jesus Christ to His Bride.

Song of Songs 1:2 "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth - For your love is better than wine."

This is the bride expressing her desire for intimacy with the groom. She says, your love is better than wine. This shows that she has already experienced His love at least once before. Also, it shows she has already experienced the effects of wine. In this one verse, the Bride shows that she's experienced the world, but it does not compare to the love she has shared with the groom.

Isn't that so true. What we have with Jesus Christ is so much greater than anything we have ever had before.

If you notice, the Bride never mentions a name. This is because there is no one else but her Beloved. There is no other option or any other man. He is the only one for her.

She says let HIM kiss ME. Her experience with Him was because He showed His love towards her first. She didn't make the first move, He did. We cannot love Christ until He has loved us first.

I know this is only two verses, but just in these two verses we have learned so much. I hope you understand this to it's fullest. This is a love song from Christ Himself, to you, the Bride. He has loved us before we knew what love was, and it swept us off our feet. Now, after experiencing His love, there is nothing that compares. He is now our One and Only.

God Bless.
